Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionising the way companies and organisations manage, create and optimise their content. Especially in the area of content management systems (CMS), AI offers enormous advantages: from the automation of repetitive tasks to the improvement of the user experience. However, the use of AI also raises questions about data protection, compliance and digital sovereignty.
EGOTEC AG sets standards here: with EGOCMS, users not only receive powerful AI functions, but also the certainty that their data is hosted securely and in compliance with the GDPR on our own servers in Germany.
Data protection and sustainability: your data stays with you
Self-hosting as the key to digital sovereignty
EGOTEC attaches great importance to data protection, security and digital sovereignty. All AI and LLM (Large Language Models) solutions are operated exclusively on our own servers in Germany - or directly on the customer's premises as part of the lalamo.cloud project. This ensures that no data is passed on to third-party providers or US technology groups. This is a decisive advantage, especially for authorities, research institutions and companies with high compliance requirements.
- Advantages of self-hosting:
- Full control over your own content
- Protection against data leaks and external influences
- Strengthening resilience against threats such as Russian propaganda
- Flexible, scalable and sustainable use of AI applications
One example: the University of Jena already relies on self-hosted AI solutions and successfully combines them with EGOCMS.
Sustainability through efficient use of resources
AI and self-hosting not only contribute to data security, but also to sustainability: Localised data processing in German data centres avoids long transmission paths and unnecessary energy consumption. In addition, the scalable infrastructure of EGOCMS enables resources to be utilised in line with demand - without over-provisioning or wasted capacity.
Small models, big impact: AI on compact hardware
At EGOTEC, we rely on compact, high-performance AI models that run efficiently even on small hardware. Our Llama3.1 model, for example, only requires a 20GB graphics card and still delivers good results.
We are currently testing the use of Apple Minis as a server solution - for even greater energy efficiency, cost savings and a lower carbon footprint. This is how we make AI not only secure, but also environmentally friendly and economical for companies and authorities of all sizes.
