The digitalisation of German administration has been stalling for years - not because of a lack of technology, but because of technical fragmentation. 16 federal states, hundreds of local authorities and the federal government operate their own IT systems, which are often incompatible with each other. Proprietary formats, closed interfaces and isolated solutions hinder efficient data exchange and collaboration.
With the Deutschland-Stack, the IT Planning Council has created a binding standard framework that commits the federal, state and local governments to open, manufacturer-independent and interoperable technologies. The goal: sovereign, future-proof administrative IT - from infrastructure to AI.
EGOCMS: The perfect addition to the Germany stack
EGOCMS is "Software Made in Germany" and "Hosted in Germany" - and therefore perfectly aligned with the Germany stack. As an accessible, multi-client-capable system with AI integration, EGOCMS already supports many of the standards defined in the stack and can be quickly and easily integrated into existing administrative architectures.
Why EGOCMS ideally complements the Germany stack
The German stack defines seven layers - from infrastructure to AI. As a modular, expandable CMS, EGOCMS covers the data, document and interface layers in particular and fulfils the central requirements of the stack.
EGOCMS can output content not only as HTML but also as JSON, XML and CSV. The DMS integrated in EGOCMS can process documents in Open Document Format and PDFs with Collabora. EGOCMS also offers open REST interfaces. User authentication can be carried out via Keycloak, among others.
Technically, we offer EGOCMS in a preconfigured docker image. In addition, we maintain both a docker-compose.yml and a Helm Chart for the operation of EGOCMS. We operate EGOCMS on our German servers in a specially hosted Kubernetes cluster.
AI
EGOCMS can connect different AI/LLM models for different use cases. In our EGOCMS demo environment(gitlab.com/egotec/EGOCMS demo), we have directly integrated an ollama container that can run small models locally. These are configured in the demo environment for various functionalities, such as summarising texts, formulating, improving spelling, generating complete articles, creating a short description, generating image descriptions or even for the chatbot, which can talk about the content managed in the EGOCMS.
